Did you know your criminal record is listed in your credit report?  Further, there is no statute of limitations as to how long it stays on your report.

To add insult to injury, since the criminal records section of your credit report is included in the court records section, you may find old bankruptcies and judgments mixed in this section, hiding under the guise of permanent criminal records allowed on your report for lenders and potential employers to see.

This information is subject to expunging protocols and other validation procedures like the financial counterparts of your report.  While a felony may eliminate certain rights, your right to have accurate information disseminated to others about you is one that you retain.  However, if you don’t realize your rights are being violated, you may not understand why you are facing obstacles in moving forward.
